Hair transplant for DHA and Clifton residents in short

A hair transplant moves hair from the back and sides of your scalp to thinning areas, using FUE (grafts taken one by one) or FUT (a thin strip). If you live in DHA or Clifton, the practical questions are how to plan the steps and how to compare clinics. Abdullah Clinics has a DHA Phase 1 branch and a Tariq Road clinic in PECHS, and this page sets out a plan that starts with WhatsApp photos, plus a checklist you can use with any clinic.

Your plan

Hair transplant in DHA Karachi: how to plan it step by step

DHA patients can see the doctors at the DHA Phase 1 branch, and Clifton patients can use either branch. The process is built around a few well planned steps.

  1. Try the HairScore quiz

The HairScore quiz gives an early idea of your stage of loss.

  2. Send photos on WhatsApp

Share clear photos of the hairline, crown, sides and back on 0333 358 8706. This remote step gives a first opinion from home.

  3. Attend an in person consultation

Call the DHA Phase 1 branch on 0301 9284080, or the Tariq Road clinic on 0333 358 8706, to book. A doctor examines your scalp, donor density and the cause of your hair loss, and all our doctors see patients at both branches. Please confirm timings before visiting.

  4. Agree the plan and written price

You receive the method, graft plan, follow up schedule and a written price, with time to think.

  5. Choose a date and arrange home

Pick a date that leaves room for rest. Arrange a companion or driver, and wear a front opening shirt on the day.

  6. Surgery and follow up

Surgery is done under local anaesthetic. Follow the written aftercare, protect your scalp from the Karachi sun and attend the reviews your doctor sets.

The methods

FUE and FUT explained honestly

FUE takes individual follicular units from the donor area with a small punch, usually after trimming the hair there short, and leaves tiny dot scars. FUT removes a thin strip of scalp, which a team divides into grafts, and leaves one linear scar that longer hair can cover.

Both rely on graft planning. The donor area is limited, and the doctor decides how many grafts can be moved without leaving the back of the scalp thin. A plan may be split into several sessions. Over harvesting is among the more serious complications in the research, so a sensible plan sometimes uses fewer grafts than you hoped for. See the main hair transplant in Karachi page for the wider overview.

Who it suits

Who can consider a hair transplant in Clifton Karachi?

Suitability depends on the same factors wherever you live. A doctor confirms them in person.

Understood, settled hair loss

A clear diagnosis and a stable pattern make planning safer.

Enough healthy donor hair

The back and sides need enough density to cover the area you want to treat.

Realistic goals

A transplant improves coverage and does not restore teenage density.

Patience and time for review

Growth takes many months, with a shedding phase on the way.

Who may be a poor candidate. Very thin donor hair, active scalp disease, unsettled scarring hair loss, patchy loss that is still changing and very young age can all mean surgery should wait. The alopecia and PRP for hair pages explain non surgical routes your doctor may discuss.
Recovery and results

Hair transplant timeline

  • Day 0 to 7

The scalp is tender with small scabs in the recipient area.

  • Week 2 to 8

Transplanted hairs commonly shed, and some existing hairs may shed too. The roots stay in place.

  • Month 3 to 6

New hairs begin to appear, often fine and patchy at first.

  • Month 9 to 12 and beyond

Most of the visible result usually shows by around a year.

Individual results vary, and no clinic can promise a particular number of hairs.

The research

What does the evidence say about FUE outcomes?

A 2026 narrative review in Frontiers in Medicine reports that recipient area shock loss usually appears within 2 to 8 weeks and typically regrows from around 3 months, and that donor depletion from over harvesting is among the most serious problems. It adds that true population level rates remain uncertain, since most data come from retrospective series.

A 2024 review in Facial Plastic Surgery describes outcomes as mostly operator dependent. The ISHRS FUE guidelines advise taking grafts from the safe donor area and state that FUE must be performed by a properly trained and licensed physician.

What this means for you: results depend on who plans the surgery and how the donor area is managed. Treat any promise of fixed results with caution.

Safety first

How to compare hair transplant clinics in DHA and Clifton

Many clinics advertise in the south of the city. This checklist helps you compare any of them, ours included.

Who examines you?

A doctor should assess your scalp before any plan is made.

Who makes the incisions?

ISHRS warns about unlicensed technicians doing the surgery.

How was the graft number chosen?

Ask how your donor area was measured and why that number is safe.

Is the quote written?

It should list what is included, such as reviews and medicines.

Be cautious of exact hair counts, promised density or pressure to decide quickly. Read PRP vs hair transplant and hair fall treatment in Karachi if you are unsure that surgery is your first step.

Pricing

Hair transplant cost in Karachi for DHA and Clifton patients

There is no single price, because two patients rarely need the same plan. The main drivers are the number of grafts, the method and session plan, the donor area, and the doctor, team and follow up involved. Abdullah Clinics gives a clear written price after a doctor has examined your scalp. Our hair transplant cost in Karachi guide explains more. Ask every clinic you compare for a quote that lists what is included.

Questions answered

Hair transplant in DHA and Clifton: frequently asked questions

Can I get a hair transplant in DHA Karachi at Abdullah Clinics?

Yes, Abdullah Clinics has a DHA Phase 1 branch, which you can call on 0301 9284080. All our doctors see patients at both branches, and the DHA branch is at 4th Floor, 130-C Main Korangi Rd, near Masjid-e-Tooba, D.H.A. Phase 1 Commercial Area B, Karachi 75500. You can also send scalp photos on WhatsApp on 0333 358 8706 first. Please confirm hours before visiting.

Do I need to visit the clinic for a hair transplant in Clifton Karachi?

Yes, at least once. Photos give a first opinion, but a doctor must examine your scalp in person to judge donor density, scalp laxity and the cause of your hair loss. There is no branch in Clifton, so you can book that visit at the DHA Phase 1 branch or the Tariq Road clinic in PECHS.

Karachi mein hair transplant kahan se karwayen? (Where to get a hair transplant in Karachi?)

Choose a clinic where a qualified doctor examines you in person, explains FUE and FUT honestly, gives a written plan and stays responsible for the incisions. ISHRS warns against unlicensed technicians doing surgery. Use the checklist on this page to compare any clinic, including ours.

What photos should I send on WhatsApp before booking?

Send clear, well lit photos of the front hairline, top, crown, both sides and the back of the head, taken with dry, unstyled hair and no cap. Mention your age, how long the loss has continued, family history and medicines.

How many visits will I need if I live across the city?

Plan for a consultation, the surgery day and at least one early review, with more reviews as your doctor advises. Choose the branch that suits you for each visit, and request the follow up schedule in writing before you book, so you can arrange time off and transport in advance.

Should I arrange a driver or companion for surgery day?

A companion is sensible. Surgery takes several hours under local anaesthetic, you may feel tired and your scalp will be tender. Your doctor tells you whether it is safe to drive home, so arrange a driver or family member beforehand.

When will I see growth, and when can I attend events?

Small scabs usually clear within one to two weeks, and transplanted hairs commonly shed in the first weeks. New growth often appears from around the third month and keeps maturing for 9 to 12 months or longer. Tell your doctor early about weddings or travel.

Am I a poor candidate for a hair transplant?

Poor candidates include people with very thin donor hair, active scalp disease, unsettled scarring alopecia, hair loss still changing quickly or unrealistic expectations. Very young patients are often advised to wait. A doctor decides after examining you and may suggest medical treatment first.

Why do hair transplant quotes in Karachi differ so much?

Quotes vary with graft numbers, method, surgeon involvement, team and follow up included. Very low offers can signal that technicians do the work instead of doctors. Abdullah Clinics gives a written price after assessment. The hair transplant cost guide explains what shapes pricing.

Which suits me, FUE or FUT?

It depends on your donor area, graft needs, hair length and scar preference. FUE leaves tiny dot marks and suits short hair. FUT leaves one thin line scar and can move many grafts at once. The doctor recommends one after examining you.
