FUE and FUT for patients in Gulistan e Johar and nearby areas
| Method | How hair is taken | Scar pattern | Often considered when |
|---|---|---|---|
| FUE | Follicular units are extracted one by one with a tiny punch | Many small dot scars, usually with a shaved donor area | You wear shorter hair or want to avoid a line scar |
| FUT | A thin strip is removed and divided into grafts | One thin linear scar | You need many grafts and keep your hair longer |
Graft planning. A graft is a natural group of one to four hairs. Your surgeon estimates how many you can use from your donor density and the area to cover. Donor limits. Once donor hair is removed it stays removed, so a good plan leaves reserve for the future. Taking too much from one zone can leave visible thin patches.

Settled pattern loss.

A transplant improves coverage and cannot recreate teenage density.

- Months 6 to 12
Hairs thicken and the pattern becomes clearer.
- After a year
The fuller result is judged at a year or later.
Results vary and no clinic can promise a particular outcome.

What does the evidence say about FUE outcomes, shock loss and donor care?
A 2026 review in Frontiers in Medicine on FUE complications reports shock loss in roughly 0.15 to 15 percent of cases, appearing 2 to 8 weeks after surgery with regrowth around 3 months. It links donor over harvesting to weak assessment and very large sessions, and suggests extracting about 10 to 20 percent of baseline density per session. The authors note the figures are approximate.
The 2024 ISHRS FUT guideline says large randomised trials are lacking and that general donor thinning may rule out a transplant. The ISHRS FUE guide notes that FUE still leaves small scars and that over harvesting cannot be corrected.
For you: donor care and honest planning matter most.

Hair transplant for Gulshan, Johar and North Nazimabad: frequently asked questions
Does Abdullah Clinics offer hair transplant in Gulshan e Iqbal Karachi?
There is no branch in Gulshan e Iqbal. Abdullah Clinics has two branches, the Tariq Road clinic on Allama Iqbal Road in PECHS Block 2 and a branch in DHA Phase 1. You can begin from home by sending photos on WhatsApp on 0333 358 8706, then visit for an in person assessment. Please confirm hours before you travel.
Hair transplant Gulistan e Johar: can I start with photos on WhatsApp?
Yes. Clear photos of your hairline, crown, back and sides let the team give an early opinion. Photos cannot show donor density or scarring, so a doctor still examines your scalp in person before any plan or price is set.
Hair transplant North Nazimabad: how many visits should I plan for?
Plan for a consultation, the surgery day and several follow up reviews over the following months. Your surgeon sets the exact schedule, often with an early wound check and later reviews as hair grows. Ask for the visit list in writing.
What is the simplest way to understand FUE and FUT?
How long before I see my new hair?
Transplanted hairs shed in the first weeks, new growth starts around the third month, and the fuller result takes a year or more. Hair grows about one centimetre a month, so results arrive slowly and vary between people.
What can I arrange at home before the surgery day?
Arrange a companion for the day, time away from work as your surgeon advises, a clean and comfortable place to rest and a plan for sun protection in Karachi’s strong sun. Tell the doctor about all your medicines. Your written instructions take priority.
How do I compare hair transplant clinics near me in Karachi?
Ask who examines you, who performs the harvesting, what the quote includes and how follow up is handled. ISHRS describes harvesting as a physician’s duty. Be careful with very low prices and promises made before anyone has seen your scalp.
Who is a poor candidate for a hair transplant?
People with thinning across the whole donor area, very little donor hair, active scalp disease or unrealistic expectations are often advised to wait or choose another route. Patchy loss from alopecia areata needs medical assessment first. A good surgeon will say plainly when surgery is a poor idea.
Ganjapan ka ilaj: Gulshan ya Johar se hair transplant ki shuruaat kaise karein? (Baldness treatment: how do I begin a hair transplant from Gulshan or Johar?)
Send clear scalp photos on WhatsApp on 0333 358 8706, or take the HairScore quiz for an early idea of your stage. Then book an in person consultation at the Tariq Road clinic in PECHS or the DHA Phase 1 branch (call 0301 9284080), where the doctor explains FUE, FUT or non surgical options and gives a written plan. All our doctors see patients at both branches.
What decides hair transplant cost for someone coming from Gulshan or Johar?
The number of grafts, the method, the donor area, the session plan and the doctor and team time decide the cost. Where you live does not change the method. Abdullah Clinics gives a written price after an in person assessment. See our hair transplant cost in Karachi guide.
