Credentials

How do you check a hair transplant surgeon’s credentials in Karachi?

Short answerAsk for the surgeon’s name, then check the registration on the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council online doctor search and ask whether the clinic is registered with the Sindh Healthcare Commission. A licensed physician must perform the surgical steps of the procedure.

Hair transplant surgery is a medical procedure, and the safest clinics make it easy to see who is responsible. The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery lists a missing surgeon name and unclear roles among its red flags. In Karachi, three checks take about ten minutes.

  • Search the doctor on the PMDC “Search for Doctors Online” tool at pmdc.pk. It shows registration status and registered qualifications.
  • Ask which doctor will make the recipient sites and place the grafts, and whether that is the doctor you meet at the consultation.
  • Ask whether the clinic is registered with the Sindh Healthcare Commission. Dawn reported in August 2026 that cosmetic and aesthetic clinics have grown faster than oversight, so registration is worth asking about.

Our doctors are listed with their qualifications on the doctors page.

Red flags

Which red flags should make you walk away from a hair transplant clinic?

Short answerWalk away from clinics that will not name the surgeon, push a same day deposit, promise unlimited grafts, guarantee results or run consultations that read like sales pitches. These are listed as warning signs by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.
  • No named surgeon, or a different person at surgery than at consultation.
  • Pressure to pay immediately, or discounts that expire today.
  • Promises of unlimited grafts or of results that are guaranteed.
  • A price far below every other quote, with unclear inclusions.
  • Before and after photos with no information on timing or the patient.
  • No aftercare plan, no review schedule and no way to reach the team after surgery.

Price and value

How should you compare hair transplant prices in Karachi?

Short answerCompare quotes by graft range, technique, surgeon, medicines, aftercare and follow ups. A lower headline price can cost more when sessions, medicines or corrections are charged separately.

Ask each clinic for a written quote with the same assumptions. Our hair transplant cost guide explains what moves the price, and 3,000 vs 5,000 grafts shows how graft number affects coverage. The American Academy of Dermatology also advises choosing a surgeon who understands hair loss and performs transplants regularly.

FAQ

Choosing a hair transplant clinic: frequently asked questions

How do I know if a hair transplant surgeon in Karachi is qualified?

Short answerAsk for the surgeon’s full name and check the registration on the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council online doctor search at pmdc.pk, which lists registered qualifications. Then ask which surgical steps the named doctor performs personally.

Should the doctor or a technician perform the transplant?

Short answerThe International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery states that a licensed physician must perform the surgical steps of a hair transplant. Trained staff can support the team under supervision, so ask the clinic in writing which steps the surgeon performs.

Is the cheapest hair transplant clinic in Karachi a good idea?

Short answerVery low prices deserve questions. Ask what the quote includes, who operates, how many grafts are promised and how donor hair is protected. Our cost guide explains what drives the price.

Should I choose a clinic based on before and after photos?

Short answerPhotos help only when they come from the clinic’s own patients with hair loss similar to yours, taken at the same angles and at least 12 months after surgery. Ask to see full timelines and to speak with the surgeon about your own case.

How many clinics should I consult before deciding?

Short answerTwo or three consultations give a useful comparison. Compare the diagnosis, the proposed graft number, the technique and the written plan rather than the price alone.

What should a written hair transplant plan include?

Short answerThe surgeon’s name, technique, estimated graft range, donor area plan, medicines, aftercare schedule, review dates and what happens if results fall short of the plan.
